I MISS YOU cards for OWH

I made seven of them but will send only five as per requested.

The card bases are from Selene a while ago. She may remember. I embossed partially only 2/3 of the top part so that I could stamp the sentiment at the bottom part. The sentiment stamp was one big stamp in two lines but I cut into two pieces and stamped in one line.I punched out flower petals from three dfferent punches. I sponged the edges by using real red ink.

OWH FINISHING STRONG Bloghop

Welcome to my blog.

“Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year. All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I am helping to get the word out!”

I cased my own cards from the past OWH Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop since I participated in 2009. I like to honor the OWH spirit and Finishing Strong. OWH is a really big dot among so many dots that are connected in my life.

I Miss You

I made this card for Anna by her request whose son is at the combat training. She misses her son very much and picked one of my previous OWH card with Ciara's image. I met her at the dog training classes. I think she is going to send this card from her puppy named Teddy. Although her puppy is not the same breed. I wish I could find the similar image of her puppy.

She said she is not sure if he will be deployed to Africa once he completed his combat training in November. I could feel that she was concerned about it. Who wouldn't? I am thinking maybe I will make some cards for him to write back to his mom.

OWH VCMP Eighth Challenge

The Un-BEE-lievable Challenge  is for you to create a card for OWH using an image of one or more bees and adding a creative BEE sentiment.

I didn't use the bee sentiment though.

Tips for you: What would you do with these papers?

Hello,

What would you do with these papers?  I mean the large images in a 12x12 designer series paper.  You may have these ones once you bought a pack of designer series papers.  I like to share what I did and how I made my cards out of them.

Depends on the image, of course, you will decide which direction to cut.

First I cut them sized 5 1/2"x12" and into the following sizes:
(2) of 5 1/2"x4 1/4" (this will cover your card base completely), and
(1) of 5 1/2"x 3 1/2"(which is the rest of cut) as shown in photos below.

Here is another designer series paper. (Note: For this paper, I cut (3) of 5 1/2"x4 1/4".)

Here is one more.

And these are my cards that I made out of the first designer series paper.  I just added a sentiment and a butterly. What do you think?

I am entering this week's OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge - make masculine themed cards.
