In the year of 2010

Note: This is an e-mail that I sent out to my OWH Cardmaking Group today.  I am so grateful for the great support from everyone in the group throughout the year.

Hello,

In the year of 2010, our OWH Cardmaking Group have donated about 1,500 handmade blank cards for our troops to write back home to their loved ones. For your information, current total as of 12/20/2010 that Operation Write Home sent to the troops is 754,286 cards.

As you might remember, I think these pictures were the one of exciting things to see apart from reading every "Heartfelt Thank You" note from our Heroes.

OWH Heroes enjoy our handmade cards

Thank you so much for your joining me in supporting for this great cause.
Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Sea Garden Blog Candy for December 2010 WINNER!!!

I have received 77 comments on my posts as of December 30, 2010 and 20 comments on the OWH facebook.  So I will complete (since I already started some)  97 cards for Operation Write Home as my personal goal other than cards that were made by my group of cardmakers.

As I promised, I have the winner for Sea Garden Blog Candy for December 2010.  David picked the number 17, which is Lisa.  I will send a small surprise to her.

D2D Free Stamp of the Month Challenge

I had to ask about this bird to David while I was making this card.  So I learned
that I can use the thinking of you sentiment not only for Christmas/winter theme.
I colored it with Copic markers and cut it out.  Then adhered on the 2 3/4" circle.

This is how I made three panels on the Chocolate Chip layering cardstock.

1. Punched out the middle panel with MS Punch All Over the Page Square Scallop Punch.
2. Punched out the both side panels with SU 1.1/4" Square punch.
3. Attached Chocolate Chip layering cardstock on to the white card base.
4. Layered one of the 1.1/4" square punched out in the middle panel.
5. Punched out a 1" square white cardstock and stamped the "wish BiG" sentiment. Attached it in the middle panel.
6. Stamped the Owl and the Balloon image directly on to the panels of white card base.
7. Colored all images with Copic markers.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #46 - D2D Poinsettia

For this card, I used a digital image from D2D Free digital stamp for December. I printed the image twice and colored it with Copic markers. I cut out the flower of second image and attached on top of the first image with dimensional.  I drawed the shiny lines with Stardust Gelly Roll pen.  I embossed the red cardstock with Cuttlebug EF.  Layered patterned paper is SU Candy Cane DSP.  Tiny Twinkle blings are from Taylored Expression.  I love them.
