OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #7

It seems to be a long time since I posted last time. Time goes very fast even without any fun. In many ways, Card Making is the theraphy for myself however, I couldn't spend as much time as I wanted to.

Anyway, here is a great sketch at OWH S&S Blog. This can be used any theme of cards with a lot of variations.

Magical Monday - Sketch

I made this card for Magical Monday - Sketch . Today's sketch was provided by my friend, Patti. I cased Patti's sample card. I used a freebie digital image Lucky Bear from Paper Cup Cake Stamps. I changed it a little bit though. It was originally with a green shamrock in the Bear's hand but I put a flower instead to make this card to be useful for any theme of cards such as thinking of you, Happy Mother's Day, Spring greetings, or even Happy Birthday with a balloon.

Here is Terrie's instruction:
You may use any color ribbon but it must be 1/4 inch.
You must have a header, one sentiment & one embellishment.
Stay true to the format of the ribbon they must crisscross.
TIP: Start with the center ribbon from point to point then 1 inch apart.

Bookmark for Card Maker Swap

I made these bookmarks for Card Maker Swap. It is 2" x 6" size. First I sprayed card stock with Glimmer Mist: Lemon Zest, Denim Blue, Meadow Green and Rum Raisin to create dreamy color to match the "Dream" digital image from Michelle Perkett Studio. I used Glimmer Screens to create the background design.

For the backside, I made my own rub on. I am not satisfied with the result of this trial on these beautifully (my wishful thinking) made bookmarks however, it was an experiment and I learned how to make it better next time. I printed the quote "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt" on a transparency paper. I set the printer setting as "mirror image" to print it backwards. I waited but it didn't dry for long so I tried to dry it with my heat gun very quickly. I rubbed the quote on the backside of bookmark as I did with other rub ons. It worked!!!

Digital Stamp: "Dream Dragonfly" from Michelle Perkett Studio

"thanks so much" with wavy music notes

My sister asked me to make a thank you card for some parents who took her younger son to a Piano concert. I had this wavy music notes stamp and wanted to use it one day. It was perfect time to play with it. I stamped it several times on the black paper with embossing stamp pad and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. For the focal image and the sentiment as per David's suggestion, I stamped them with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and embossed with clear embossing powder. It turned out very well and my sister liked it very much.

Rubber Stamp: Wavy Music from Stampendous!
Acrylic Stamp: thanks so much from Hero Arts

Card for the Little Girl

I finished this card tonight. I colored the digital image that I received from Dustin Pike for the Little Girl at my husband, David's hospital bedside yesterday. It was all of a sudden when he was admiited to the hospital on Thursday morning and I was so worried about his condition. He is discharged today and home now. He seems to be getting better thankfully. It was very long three days.

For me, there was not much to do at his bedside while watching him. So I took the printout of image and markers from home to color it. He liked watching me doing it rather than sitting there in worries.

Hope my card will make the Little Girl happy. Thanks to Dustin for doing this good cause.
