These are A9 size cards for Operation Write Home that I made over the weekend. Card size is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Fabre Sanders, one of shippers of OWH needs this size cards since she has a thousands of A9 size envelopes. This size is based on 8.5" x 11" card stock folded in half. I think that Heroes can write more messages in this card.
* Sentiment: Birthday Wishes - Digital image from Digiments
* Sentiment: Thinking of You - Digital image from one of my very kind freind who allowed me to use it for making cards for Heroes.
* Image: Freebie Digital Stamp from ??? (I need to check back.)

Let it snow Waterfall Card - Card Maker Technique Challenge
Hello~
It has been a pleasant technique challenge for me to master the Waterfall card making. I learned this technique before when I was taking Scrapbooking classes. I searched tutorials for waterfall card making on the internet and found that all went down. Maybe that’s why it is called Waterfall card. I wanted to try something different so instead of up and down I did side to side. On this card, I tried to use as many techniques as I could. I think there is no limit to create something like this.
As you can see in the picture, when you gently pull the tab with ribbon through from your right hand side, the waterfall panels open up sideways. To close it, gently push down the card front with your left hand and slide the tab back into the panels. If you give this card to someone, you might need to write a note or show how to open and close it. You will have fun to make it and recipients will enjoy it.
You can make a Waterfall card with any theme of stamp set or combination of stamps as desired. Make your own storylines. You can even use your family or children’s photos instead of stamped images and write a message on the back of each panel.
I hope you to enjoy it!
I wrote an instruction how to make this Waterfall Card that I saved in the pdf format. Please leave me a comment if you want to have a copy.

Congratulations! OPERATION WRITE HOME (Formerly known as cardsforheroes.org)
September 12th is the first birthday of OPERATION WRITE HOME (Formerly known as cardsforheroes.org).
A poem written just for this occasion by supporter Kathy C. in New York:
OPERATION WRITE HOME
CardsForHeroes.org is a wonderful group
Of people who really do care
The card makers create extra special cards
For military contacts to share.
These contacts distribute the cards to the folks
Who are serving abroad in harm’s way
Be they soldiers, marines, sailors or airmen
These cards really do make their day.
The beautiful cards are sent home to their friends
Or husbands or kids or their wives
They write in these cards and pour out their hearts
They share this time in their lives.
It’s a way for the warriors to stay in touch
With loved ones that they hold so dear
The messages sent are full of their love
That these families and friends need to hear.
And now this awesome group has evolved
And they celebrate a new name
Henceforth they are called Operation Write Home
But remember their mission’s the same.
They want all the warriors to know they are loved
And they want families to feel this as well
So welcome to Operation Write Home
And Cards For Heroes we bid thee farewell.
