thinking of you - OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #3

I made these simple cards for OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #3 and I am going to use them as sample cards tomorrow when we have OWH Cards Assembling Day at work during lunch time. I pre-cut card stock and patterned papers and punched-out flowers and small hearts. Stamping the sentiment will be done later.

Owl Always Love You

Finally I made this card for Delightful Inspiration Artist's challenge . It took me a while to get a feeling of the saying that Owl sounds like I'll. Hope my guess is right. Well... something to learn everyday. I think this can be a nice masculine card that I can send to our heroes. I colored the image with Bic Mark it and printed out the sentiment from my computer.

This card is also for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #59.

"LOVE LETTER" Easel Card

Welcome to my blog!

I made this "LOVE LETTER" Easel Card to enter the Michelle Perkett Studio "LOVE LETTER BLOGHOP" - Sunday, February 7, 2010.

I am going to give it to my husband on Valentine's Day. He has been very supportive and patient with me. He is my best friend in my life. The message in this bottle is what I am going to write inside of my card as always.

With this card, I also entered the Crazy 4 challenges - C4C23 - a valentine themed card.

I used the digital stamp: Love Letter Fairy from the Michell Perkett Studio on PCP.
To make the easel card stand up by itself, I added my Homemade Dew Drops.
Easel Card Tutorial is HERE. My card size is 5" x 7" which is not in the tutorial however, you can make any variations in size depends on the design of your card.

As a token of appreciation, I like to offer my Blog Candy to 3 winners. The winner will receive a digital stamp of their choice from the Michelle Perkett Studio. I am sure that everyone will like Michelle Perkett's digital stamps as I do. I will have my husband to pick the winners randomly and announce it on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010.

What I want you to do (ONLY if you like to do):
1. Be a follower to my blog if you are not yet.
2. Be a follower to OWH Stars and Stamps Blog if you are not yet. I just want to be a help to spread words of this great organization. If you didn't know about it, please visit the Operation Write Home site.
3. Leave a comment on this post.

Here is the list of LOVE LETTER BLOGHOP. Hope you make it through all the way and enjoy while you are bloghopping. Thanks very much for your stopping by.

Happy Birthday Trifold Shutter Card

This morning, I read a post about the Trifold Shutter Card Tutorial at the OWH Stars and Stamps Blog. What a great tutorial! It is open for two weeks to give you time to figure out this challenging card.

I made this card with an idea that came up to my mind while I was reading one of comments that questioning how can soldiers write their message on this card.

This is a close up of the middle panel of the card. Not only this blank space but also I made it as a pocket and inserted a paper inside for wrting more messages. I put the ribbon at the top left of the inside paper to make it easier to pull it out.

Homemade Dew Drops

It was an experiment. I made these dew drops for fun and for testing since I have seen it somewhere. The lady who showed it used markers. I used Alcohol Ink instead. It was much easier.

You need the following supplies:

- Clear Acrylic Discs. I bought it at the Michales.

- Alcohol Ink. I used Cranberry color.

How to make:
Put some of clear Acrylic Discs into a plastic container that you can recycle. Add a few drops of Alcohol Ink and mix them well until you see they got coated in color that you like. That's all about it. Alcohol ink dries fast so you can use these dew drops right away on to your card.

Love is in the Air

I made this card for two challenges:

* OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #2

* 365 cards. Just include the word "love" in your sentiment.

Digital Image: Cupid Ellientire Stamp from The Digi Kitty
Sentiment: Color Rubz Rub-on

P.S. I want to share how did I make the dew drops that I added on this card on my next post.

Love Birds tri-shutter card

I made this card a while ago. It seemed to be complicated at first sight, however, it was easy and fun to play. I made another one that I put photos in some of panels and it turned out very well as a showcase.

Christmas Cards All Year 'Round - January 2010

I made 5 cards to enter the challenge at the Christmas Cards All Year 'Round with the freebie image "Fallin' In Love" from the Delightful Inspiration. Today is the last day of this challenge for January 2010. I MADE IT!

This is a good challenge to keep up the Christmas spirit all year 'round and get ready Christmas cards when the time comes for OWH.

Fallin' In Love

Whew~ This week has been so busy. I haven't had enough time to catch up everything and I must have missed a lot.

Anyway, I didn't want to miss the January FREE Stamp Week #4 Challenge at the Delightful Inspiration so I made this card while David is waiting for our Sunday brunch. I used the sketch from the Stamping 411 to enter their Saturday Sketch Challenge 136 as well.

Thanks for freebie image and challenges.

Wish everyone a nice Sunday!

Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #1

I made this card for Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #1. This is a new Challenge Blog of the Operation Wrtie Home. I am so excited to participating in this challenge.

This is the sketch and what Sandy said: You can use this as-is, tweak it, turn it sideways, layer like mad if you wish—it's an idea-starter! Bonus applause for you if you incorporate a star into the card, in honor of our new blog's name!

I used a freebie digital stamp from Karen Johnson of Karen's Doodles.

Thanks for the challenge and inspiration.

Operation Write Home Challenges

I copied this from the Operation Write Home Homefront Blog post.

"...... So for those who need a "goal" to set in front of them, here are a few ideas:

1.Missing My Kids: Create 20 missing-you cards appropriate to send to children and mail them to a shipper by Jan 31.
2.Seventeen Green: Create 3 St Patrick's and 17 Thinking of you cards (since it's 3/17) and get them to your shipper by Jan 31 - beat that Feb deadline so we can get some boxes out early for the holiday! (Lots of folks have been mailing well past our deadlines - help a shipper out by being early!)

3.TwentyTen challenge: A bigger challenge that could last you all through 2010! One month you make and send in at least 20 cards, the next 10 cards, the next 20, and so on. It's small goals that can keep us moving!"
