Cards for OWH

Hello,

It's about two weeks since my last post.  Sorry about that.  There are so many fun challenges at OWH S&S Blog.  However, I couldn't keep up.  Not only busy working but also I have been down physically and emotionally.  Every morning, I had to drag myself to get out of the bed.  Hopefully I can get better soon and bring my energy and creativity back. 

Here are some make-up cards that were from last OWH Cardmaking Party and some additional cards that I made to fill up the second box of 270 cards for OWH.  I sent the first box of 215 cards before the due date for Halloween cards.  So it will be total 485 cards from our group in September.  Great job, everyone!

Mahri's Giraffe Love card

Mahri is 3rd Grade artist.  She drew this image for me to make cards for OWH.  I replaced her handwritten sentiment with my computer generated font.  Other than that, I kept her original image even by piecing.  I like how it turned out.  I used the background papers from Stampin' Up! and heart border punch from Martha Stewart.

Coloring with Reinkers using Baby Wipes - Gratitude

This is so fun technique that you should try if you haven't.  Every stamped image turns out in different shade of colors.  One thing to remind, you have to use glossy papers.

Card Kits for 10 cards including sample cards.  I need 4 more flower sets that Susan D. cut out.  Susan's hand cut out pieces are amazing. The flower images are digital images from Fred, She Said Designs.  I used a Stampin' Up!' Designer Paper.

Card Kits 2 for OWH Cardmaking Party - Sunday, 9/11/11

I made this card based on the CAS sketch #155.

I made 16 card kits including my sample card with 1 patterned paper, 10 colored cardstocks in three colors for the card front cover, layers and punched out leaves, 1 whisper white cardstock for the sentiment.

Ruffled Happy Birthday cards

Cards for OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #84

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #84

I made three cards today based on the OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #84 although I turned its direction.  From a OWH cardmaker's point of view, which one would you like to make for card kits.  As Cora wrote on the OWH Facebook, it is time consuming to make card kits.  It is easier to complete a card that you can play with more dimensionals and embellishments. So let's focus on making card kits for other cardmakers.  Please comment what you think.

When I got hundreds of these 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" sized blank reception cards from Karen R. and I was excited.  It is a perfect size to have a stamped image and a sentiment to go with or just a larger image in it.  It's made of very heavy cardstock and good for stamping or coloring with markers. 

Since it was debossed already, I just stamped an image and colored. I added the full moon by sponging a negative side of punched out circle.

For the first card, I trimmed the edges with a die cut because it looked plain with wider borders.  I wasn't sure whether I like it or not, frankly speaking.

For the second card, I cut the image out and layered with a colored cardstock and layered on another cardstock that I trimmed the edges with a die cut. This means that you need to cut two more times. However, it brings out the focal image better.

For the third card, I added the ground by sponging and corners in shape with a corner punch.  This means you need to play more techniques and do more work.  You might even like to add some more things like blings, buttons or anything.  I didn't feel like to do it though.  I should keep it easier for other cardmakers to assemble.  Otherwise I should do all of these pre-work by myself as usual.

Stamp: Penny Black "Student Witch"

Paper: K&C Company Specialty Paper, SU Cardstock

Ink: Stazon Black, Copic markers, SU ink pad

SU corner punch, black ribbon
