What a pleasant surprise when I was informed that I won the stamp set: Timeless Treasures designed by Theresa Momber of Gina K. Designs. Theresa sent me the stamp set and her card as well. Beautiful! Thanks to Theresa!



I made a card for H. at work with this stamp based on Melanie Muenchinger's Inspiration Mosaic stamp. I love these two stamp sets.

This is one of cards that I made for Crayola Colors card swap. I like this heart stamp that I received from my dear Mom like Mom. (I don't know how to call her other than that. She is very loving and giving.)

These are cards for Crayola colors: red, blue yellow, orange, green, purple, brown, black. It was fun to go by colors.

I like to make waterfall card. Once I made it, it became easy and it was so much fun. I used blue and pink colored card stock this time for a change. I think it turned out very well. Hope you like it, too.




On this Card For Heroes Mini Bloghop: August 15,I like to share:
1. my idea to "How to make more than one card". It is basically about to plan beforehand to use the leftovers after you punch out flowers or snow flakes. Instead of throwing them away, you can use them as a mat of the focal point. You can make five or more different cards by doing this way without wasting. I made an instruction for my cardmaking friends at work and saved it pdf file but I don't know how to add it on this post. Instead, let me show you these cards as examples.



And these are cards that my cardmaking friends at work made for Cards For Heroes. They made them based on the first card sample that I made. I am going to put a sentiment on each card before I send them to Cards For Heroes.



2. why I love crafting for our heroes. I wrote the following when I participated in Memorial Day Bloghop. The more I make cards for them the more I feel thankful for them. I am grateful for my life.

"I want to take this time to remember all of the brave men and women who have given their lives serving our country.

I remember that we used to write a comforting letter to soldiers who were fighting in the Vietnamese war when I was a middle school student in Korea. My uncle was one of them and he got injured during the war. I saw him suffering from the injury throughout his life. I didn't really know at that time but now I can tell that soldiers are heroes. I am grateful for my life and my work in America safely. Thanks to them for their service!

I am happy to participate in card making and sending cards to soldiers in the battle field through Cards for Heroes. I joined the Card Makers group and started making cards for Cards for Heroes since January. It has been exciting challenges when I had to make cards with the different theme each time. It gives me warm feeling when I visualize whom holds my cards in his or her hand and looks so happy."

I made this card for STVPF25: Photo Focal Points challenge.

David said the sentiment for me and I printed it on my computer.

"Bulgiki" - A famous Korean dish

David treated me at the Korean Restaurant yesterday. We had "Bulgoki" - a famous Korean dish. It is beef that thinly sliced and marinated with special sauce. We cooked it on the grill on the table. Once it is cooked, we wrapped it with lettuce. Tasted so good!

Without Sentiment Card Swap

This is what I made for Without Sentiment Card Swap hosted by Jane from Utah. I cut out the flower image from the patterned paper. I put the bottom part with the embossed paper. I think it turned out very nice look. I really like to use the Cuttlebug Machine. I am so pleased to see how the plain paper changes to totally different look once it is embossed.

My New Toy - Craft Sewing Machine "Pixie"

I got a new tool from one of my best friends as an early birthday present for my birthday in November. It is Craft Sewing Machine "Pixie." I wanted to have one since I have seen that Gina K. demonstrated at the Stamp TV. Although this is different company's product to that one, it works well and I like it.

In the picture it came out like blue but the actual color is purple.



I made the first sewn card with this tool.

For Tricia - my special friend in Australia

I was travelling in the US when I first met Tricia and her family, her husband Paul and two daughters Emma and Natalie, who came from Australia in New York City in April 1989. We were on the way to the Statue of Liberty by the city tour bus. They were travelling in the US for two months from the west side to the east. It was the final destination for them. Since I was working with Australian people in Korea at that time, I was interested in chatting with them. They were so open and friendly. We enjoyed the rest of tour together. We became very good friends ever since.

I visited them and she also visited us where my daughters studying in Australia and we spent a good time together. Especially I still remember how hot it was on the Christmas Day compared to the cold weather in Korea in December. It was very special experience. We went to the sea with their boat. It reminded me of seeing a Christmas card with the image of Santa in the beach holding a surfing board.

Two years ago we found out each other that we both started scrapbooking and cardmaking. It was amazing to know that. Last Christmas, she made a beautiful album for me that brought me back all those good old memories with them. This is the cover of the album. The pictures inside are so precious memories.

She is my special friend and I made a card for her with her picture in it. A message on the card is "A friend like you is an every day blessing of the heart"

New Card Makers' cards for Cards for Heroes

I had a July "Card Making 101" class at work as scheduled during lunch time today. I showed my work colleagues how to make cards from the scratch. They have been making cards with me and they wanted to learn more. I offered free technique classes and they agreed to donate one card each to Cards for Heroes in return. Everybody was so excited to make cards from the shopping for materials, cutting papers and to the completion of cards.

I am happy to make cards for my family and friends. I am glad that I can share my card making experience with others. David said that you should be very proud of your students when he saw cards that they made. Yes, I am so proud of them and thank to them for their donation. For sure, we had a fun time as the time went so fast.

I took so many shots of Fire Works but this is the best. It matches to my card, Happy July 4th.

Wedding Card - Happily Ever After

One of my best Korean friends asked me to make a wedding card for her son who is getting married soon. Since the wedding is going to be held in Korea, she wants to take it with her when she goes to Korea next Sunday. I've been thinking about the design of the card and the inside as well because her request was very specific. She found a poem in Korean that she wanted to enclose inside of the card. So I came up with an idea like this. A card inside of the card. I printed the poem, attached it to the card which is a little bit smaller than the main card and tied up with ribbon so that they can see the poem when they open it. I printed the words "Happily Ever After" on my computer.

I hope she will like it and the couple will have a Long and Happy Marriage.

My Cuttlebug Machine

I have been wanting to have a Cuttlebug Machine for a long time. Today, my dream came true. Wow~ it's cool. I made some cards with the first embossed papers that I am going to send to Cards for Heroes soon.


I really like it.

For David on Father's Day

I made this card for David on Father's Day. Since he is a huge fan of the sailboat, I used the sailboat stamp that I got recently. He liked the card and the message on the card. "LOVE I'm lost at sea without you." Well... it is true. Realistically, I am lost at sea because I can't swim. HA! Of course there is more deeper meaning in the message.

Card donation for Fund Raising

I volunteered to participate in the fund raising with my handmade cards at work. Because I didn't know about the event until two days before the event, I didn't have much time to make a lot. However, it was fun and good to be a part of good cause. I made cards for Father's Day, Graduation, Thanks, and Birthday. I wished I could have made more of Thanks or Birthday cards. Surprisingly, Father's Day cards didn't sell much although it is coming soon. Some people said to me that they like my cards but their father passed away so.... well.... My conclusion is that any occasion cards would do much better in any time. Learning everyday!
