I'll be home soon - OWH S&S Sketch #20 & Color Challenge: Pot of Gold

I made this card for  OWH S&S Sketch #20 challenge and for  Don't Worry... Be Scrappi: OWH Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop Challenge by using "Oscar" digi image.  I used the background paper that I experimented the Wax Resist Technique.  You can see the tutorial video that Sandy presented on her blog HERE. I printed the sentiment from my computer.  I thought it would be well received by Any Heros' family.  I got an idea about it from Sandy's blog, too, HERE.

I made another card with the same sketch for OWH S&S Color Challenge: Pot of Gold. The challenge is to use gold on your card without using any kind of glitter products.  I added gold metalic embossed corners on this card. I cut out the gold metal square and embossed it with Cuttlebug Swiss Dot EF. I think this card can be a nice masculine card.

Pinwheel cards - thinking of you

I made these Pinwheel cards by following the instructions of the Tutorial - Patriotic Pinwheel at the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog.  It is fun and easy to play along with and the outcome is great.  One thing that I want to mention is that I ran the base paper of Pinwheel through the XYRON 500 so that I can just attach each strip on to it easily.

Thank you - OWH S&S Sketch #18, OWH Digi "Eagle Letter"

What a great day of OWH Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop!  So much inspiring creations and tutorials.  A lot of nice blog candies, too!  However, I shouldn't keep sitting in a chair too long because of my lower back condition.  So I took some time off from bloghopping and made a card instead to enter OWH S&S Sketch #18 challenge by using Sandy's first OWH digi set that she created for OWH cardmakers.  She is so amazing and talented.  I can't even think how she could do all these things.  I am going to include this card as one of Any Hero cards in my next shipment to the OWH on Tuesday.

I tried the Wax Resist Background technique that Sandy presented on her blog.  It is so much fun to see how it turns out.  First I embossed the waxed paper with Cuttlebug Stars EF and then I reused it by crumpling it.  You can see the difference in the photo above. Thank you, Sandy!

Red White Blue "miss you" - OWH Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop May 29, 2010

Welcome to the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop!  Thanks for stopping by!  If you arrived here from Joy, Dustypenny Designs blog then you are in the right place but if you arrived on my blog in the middle of the hop and want to start at the beginning, please go to the OWH Stars and Stamps blog for the start of the hop so you can get the 'full experience' for the day.

I am so happy to participate in this Bloghop again.  In fact, I started my blog last year in order to participate in the first OWH (Cards for Heroes at that time) bloghop.  It was a great turning point. Thanks to Sandy, to the OWH and to our heroes most of all for their dedication.  Time to time I can't help remind myself that I am a foreigner here however, I learn and become a citizen each day by making cards for heroes and share my passion with others.

I am going to have a surprise blog candy for three winners to celebrate my one year blogging.  Leave me some inspiring comments and I will randomly pick winners on June 1st.  Thanks for your comments.
I found out these links that I wanted to share with you.
