OWH Tuesday Tutorial Challenge - One Sheet Wonder

I made 8 cards to show another variations of One Sheet Wonder 12"x12" template.  I am sure that there are many more variations that can be made. 

 

I am going to offer a giveaway during the OWH Memorial Weekend Bloghop May 25-27, 2013 for those who takes the challenge this week's OWH Tuesday Tutorial Challenge - One Sheet Wonder.

 

 

 

These are card front that are already assembled.  I made two sets of the same layout in two different colored cardstock that are matching to the designer series paper. The strips are from the rest of cut.  Nothing to waste!

STEPPED UP cards by embellishing with blings.  It shows additional touches.

Tip: 1/4" Thickness Checker

I made a 1/4" Thickness Checker to meet the USPS standard first class mail regulations.  I got this idea from someone who mentioned it on OWH facebook.  I carefully measured and cut 1/4" slot out of a recycling box.

This will be a great tool to check the thickness of card when someone has a lumpy looking card.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #173 - God Bless America

This is a great sketch!

 

You can make 14 cards pieces that will make 7 cards out of one 12"x12" dsp by cutting 5"x3-1/2" pieces first and cut it in half.  That will make two of  5"x1-3/4" panels to fit on a 4"x5-1/4" colored cardstock layer.

 

From the rest of cut, two pieces of 5"x 2" and two pieces of 5"x1-1/2 that will make 2 more cards.

Variation cards for 3"x3" cut from one sheet of 12"x12" dsp

We had a great time and fun class today to make 8 cards out of one sheet of 12"x12" double-sided dsp.

As one of variations, I made five cards to show you with 3"x3" cut from one sheet of 12"x12" dsp.  If you plan ahead how many cards you are going to make from each layout, even more variations of course, you will end up making 16 cards without leaving any scraps. Depending on the design of the paper, you can use any sentiment of your choice and by the theme. 

You might embellish it more if you like to.

Tip: How to keep the liquid glue in place

I want to share a tip how to keep the liquid glue in place.

 

This little jar helps me to keep my liquid glue in place when not in use and also when in use.  It keeps the flowing of liquid without drying out until you close the lid.  Hope you will try it.

OSW (One Sheet Wonder) Template for 12"x12" Double-sided DSP and sample cards

I've been working on OSW (One Sheet Wonder) Template for 12"x12" Double-sided DSP and made sample cards for my OWH cardmaking group.  I have a class tomorrow for them to create OWH card kits. 

I came up with this basic template to make eight cards along with several variations that you can make more out of it.  You will need to first cut in 5"x12", the second cut in 5"x12" and the rest will be 2"x12".  Then go by the cutting diagram. 

This is a draft that you will see my handwriting after many whiteouts.  I will work on my computer to get nicer drawing. 

Tip:  Punch out the focal image mat from the base layer that will be covered by dsp anyway.

Hope this will give some inspiration whoever wants to try.
