Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas - my first new Christmas card for this year.  Last Thursday, on the OWH TV show, Sandy mentioned that we need to start making Christmas cards.  Sounds great!

When I first saw this block of digi stmaps, I thought it would make a perfect card with OWH Sketch #175.  I colored them with Copic markers.

Designer papers are from SU - Festival of prints dsp paper stack.  This is sized 4-1/2"x6-1/2".  I cut it in half to make two pieces of 4-1/2"x3-1/4".  I cut it to make two pieces of 4-1/2"x1-1/8" and one piece of 4-1/2"x1".  I flipped over the middle one piece of 4-1/2"x1" and layered on top of real red cardstock of 5-1/4"x1-1/4".  It is easy to make two cards and coordinate colors based on the dsp colors.

AnyHero Cards - I Always thank GOD for You

I made more AnyHero Cards to fill up my box of cards to Sandy.  I used the sentiment from Hero Arts stamps for OWH fund raiser. I puched it out with 1-3/4" circle punch.

I just wanted to share what I wrote inside.  Ususlly I write "Dear Hero" but this time I started writing "Hi" as Sandy suggested that we could do so.  Surpringly it made me feel easy and chatty.  I wrote my personal story without thinking hard what to write.

Thanks to The McGuire Family, Cincinatti, OH

I received a box full of Hero Arts layering cardstock and matching envelopes from The McGuire Family, Cincinatti, OH.  There was a no message inside but it was marked OWH on the outside of box.  It was a pleasant surprise and so grateful.

I wish I could send a card to say thank you but the address label didn't show clearly. So here is my THANK YOU card for The McGuire Family.

Sympathy card for Tricia

Tricia's father, US Veteran, passed away last week. I haven't met him but I admired him and respected him when she told me about her father.
I met Tricia on the commuter bus long time ago. She was interested in what I was doing so we started a conversation. She came to our cardmaking party and became Operation Write Home supporter and a good friend of mine.

I was so sorry to hear about her loss but she was in peaceful mind and I know it was from her father. So grateful to know her father through her.

May fond memories be with you always.

Birthday card for Joanie

Joanie has been such one of great (I wish I could say a greater word than great.) supporters for my OWH Cardmaking Party ever since I started it at work in 2009. I made a joke sometimes "it was you and Kathy's fault." whenever I had down times. Haha...

Happy Birthday Joanie!

MISS YOU ALL THE TIME under the water

I cut one sheet of 12"x12" dsp by using the One Sheet Wonder Template.  It will make 6 of identical design and 3 different ones.  I stamped the images to create under the water scene on this light colored dsp piece. For the sentiment, I used one of the Hero Arts OWH fundraiser stamp sets. I punched out 1/16" circles on the left side border.  Does it look like water bubbles?  Hope so.

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #175 - You're Always In My Heart

I received Hero Arts stamp sets for OWH fundraiser that I ordered at Hobby Lobby online store. So I used them to make my cards today to enter OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #175.  I stamped the heart image separately in red and in blue.  I cut out the blue section and adhered it on top of the heart image.

Freshly Made Sketches #88 and Measurements

I played Freshly Made Sketches #88 and here is my card to enter. I love how it turned out. I used one sheet of 12"x12" double-sided dsp and it was easier to coordinate dsp pieces by cutting the measurements that I came up with. You can make 6 identical cards and 3 in different layouts.

This is Freshly Made Sketches #88 and my measurements next to it.

  • Step 1 - Cutting 5"x12", 5"x12" and 2"x12"

  • Step 2 - Cutting 3-1/2"x5", 3-1/2"x5", 3-1/2"x5"and 1-1/2"x5"

  • Step 3 - Cutting 2-1/4"x5", 3/4"x5" and 1/2"x5".

  • Step 4 to 6 - Layering on the 4"x5-1/4" sized matching colored cardstock.
