Operation Write Home WCMD 2014 Blog Hop

Today is World Card Making Day.  OWH is hosting a Blog Hop through the weekend. There are many OWH cardmakers will be joining the party. Please click Operation Write Home WCMD 2014 Blog Hop to go to the main post on OWH Stars and Stamps blog.

Here is my take on the OWH Blog Hop theme: Love. I used the OWH Fundraiser Stamp Set by the Simon Says Stamp! I like this stamp set very much. It is easy to show my love for this country.

For the focal point, I stamped the image in Midnight Muse colored ink and fussy cut out - "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave."  I stamped the sentiment "Love You" at the bottom in Real Red color.

I embossed the background on Whisper White cardstock by new Stampin' Up!'s Lucky Stars embossing folder. I tied the Real Red colored ribbon over the Whisper White cardstock first and added Navy and White colored ribbons on top of it. I added punched out hearts from the Stampin' Up!'s new Hearts Border Punch.

May ODBD challenge for Operation Write Home is to use Embossing on your card. It can be either dry or wet embossing, or both.

Here is my first card.

 I dry embossed the background by Scallops Textured embossing folder.
I used a stamp set "Work of Art" from SU new catalog. It will be available for customers on June 2, 2014.  My sentiment "Love" is from Everyday Occasions stamp set.

 

 

 

My second card.

I heat embossed the circles once it was stamped by watermark ink pad. I used a sponge to create the background by embossing resistant technique.
Nice looking!
